Most of you might have already started decorating for Christmas in your homes, apartments or rentals, and we’ve had most of ours up for the past few weeks. I have never received so many questions about our tree than this year! We’ve had it for 4 years now (we bought it a year before we moved in, talk about proactive) and still love it. I’ve noticed flocked trees becoming more and more popular this year, so I am dedicating this whole blogpost on our tree (best week to buy with Cyber sales still going on), our decorations, Â tree skirt etc. Our exact one is from Canadian Tire and pre-lit, I’ve found great ones at Wayfair, William Sonoma and Target as well!
I’ll be sharing a full Holiday Home Tour on my YouTube channel soon for Vlogmas once we completely finish (I have a few more things I ordered that need to come in) and I’ll do a separate dedicated blogpost with all of the links for our kitchen, living room and bedroom decorations. Yes, I said bedroom! First year we are decorating in there, but we’ve already begun and it feels so cozy and festive. We spend a lot of time just hanging out watching movies and lounging in our comfy bed during the holidays when we take some time off, so we decided to add some decor in there too. It must be all of the Hallmark Channel movies I’m watching that have Christmas lights and decor in every corner of the house *haha.*
I added these neutral pink bambis (thats what I call em) from Canadian Tire to our tree this year and love them! We had a lot of black and white ornaments, and this year I wanted more wood/natural colours and textures with our other white ones. I just get a few to not overload our decor boxes, and like adding each year to our collection.
I like making the space around our tree cozy, so adding some lanterns (love these ones) with battery powered candles brings in more ambiance. The basket (similar here) is where we store all of Lucy’s toys to keep things tidy and I like having pretty wrapping paper on hand to wrap our gifts! I got these from Target (watch my Christmas Target Haul here).
Behind our Christmas Tree there’s a white wall that I like to have a meaningful scripture or quote hanging. It’s the centrepiece of our home, and whenever we look at the tree (or our guests), I love seeing a reminder of Christmas beyond presents. I found this scroll of the music sheet for O Holy Night (one of my favourite Christmas songs we sing at church). It looks perfect and adds such a meaningful touch to our place.
I love finding ornaments that embody why we celebrate Christmas, I have many with scripture, little churches, crosses and the Holy Family hanging all around the tree (mixed with cute winter creatures, stars etc). This set of 4 glittery churches is just beautiful!
My sister bought this ornament that looks just like Lucy and had it personalized and naturally it’s one of our faves! It’s the only red on our tree (which can throw of our colour scheme), but we don’t really care and make an exception because it’s so darn cute! Found a similar one here (different breeds available).
Love this Holy Family ornament I found last year, it goes right at the top of the tree!
We added two mini trees behind our couch to fill in the empty space and love them! I’ve linked similar ones here: Target, flocked versions (different sizes) and Nordstrom Rack (which would look cute on a table).
Hope you found this post helpful and stay tuned for more of our Christmas decor…

Your flocked tree is seriously the best!!
