Denim shopping has always been a daunting task for me! They’re not easy to find the right fit as they all vary from cut, shape and brand. I feel like I’ve finally found the right pairs that suit my body but most importantly feel comfortable to wear. These are five of my faves that fit true to size and look great dressed up or down…

GRLFRND DENIM | Karolina High Rise Skinny Jean

Like a “boyfriend” jean but only not so loose, I love these “grlfrnd” jeans because they’re more relaxed and distressed. They button up (no zipper) and can be rolled up (or take them to a tailor to hem). I’m 5’7 so I don’t find that they’re too long and I love the rolled up denim look. In pants I wear a size 4 (27) and that’s the same size for each of these pairs!

LEVIS | Wedgie Icon Jeans

These are probably my most worn and favourite pair of high waisted denim. I always feel good in these jeans and I think that’s important! They’re ankle length, which makes them perfect for pairing with sandals in the summer but also work great with booties in the fall. I love tucking in a tight bodysuit or tee in these! Again, I got a size 27 and they fit just right. Also, can I just say — they have the perfect booty fit! I don’t like when the denim material sag back there, and these give you a nice lift!

CITIZENS OF HUMANITY

I have so many from COH (white denim, light, dark etc.) and find these the most comfortable! They have a great give to them, making them stretchy and easy to wear for longer periods (some high waisted denim can just feel too tight after a while).

DARK WASH HIGH WAIST SKINNY JEANS

These are the perfect skinny for fall because they look polished enough to wear with a blazer (casual day at work), perfect for date night (moto/leather jacket) or with a comfortable long cardigan on the weekends. I’m wearing a size 27 and these jeans give me the most stretch on the waist which I love!

LIGHT DENIM (SIMILAR AT TOPSHOP)

I got this pair a while back and even though Citizens of Humanity doesn’t sell this style anymore, I did find a good dupe at Topshop! I own this pair as well (see the photo of me in them here) and they’re a lot more cost effective. Now I do believe in investing in a few good pairs of jeans, but I love a good deal (especially under $100) that fits well and will last me a few seasons.

BDG | High Rise Destroyed Relaxed Straight Jean

Finally, my last pair of denim that I absolutely love are these by BDG! They’re a great line at Urban Outfitters that offers affordable and good quality denim (I have tons of their jeans). They fit the truest to size (27) and I’ve had to do little-to-no tailoring on these pairs. I wear these all of the time and they get better and more comfortable with time. These are a relaxed style you can just throw on for weekends!
