Bloom With Grace: A Special 1st Birthday Party

Our baby girl turned one on Friday (June 10) and we threw her a big backyard bash at my parent’s home on Saturday and it was just perfect. Not because of the decor, or the weather (that thankfully held up after showing rain all week), but because it was a beautiful thing to see how loved our Grace is by our friends and family. Watching your people love on your child is truly so special. Not having a baby shower and many people having not met Grace due to lockdown after lockdown…this was a long awaited celebration. It felt amazing to gather with family and friends to celebrate our biggest blessing. Being parents comes with so much joy and also so much responsibility. It is the hardest, most rewarding type of work and holding those two things at once is such a unique experience. It is also the highest honour to raise this baby girl with my husband.

What a year it has been! The Lord has given me strength and energy, a wonderful village surrounding us and praying over us and it has made motherhood so sweet. This day was a celebration of all the goodness and grace in our lives, for our daughter, for our people and for us as parents, one year in. A year of blooming, with Grace, for all!
