When it came to picking our honeymoon spot, we knew we wanted a quick getaway after the wedding where we could just relax. My sweet friend and our wedding florist Lisa of Sweet Woodruff had glowing reviews of Encanto Acapulco where she honeymooned and highly recommended it to us. At first we were looking at Turks & Caicos, since Neal and I love the sun and beach. After doing some research, and hearing all of Lisa’s positive experiences, we decided to book Encanto! We love Mexico, and it fit our budget, being able to get a little luxury, without having to go in debt over it. Today I’m sharing a little more about the romantic getaway and why I’d recommend it too…
Neal and I love being in the water, so naturally we decided to go with a pool villa room. We had stayed in one like this in Santorini (where we got engaged) and it reminded us of it all over again! We definitely enjoyed the pool downstairs, but there was something nice about having privacy and room service some days when we just wanted to be on our own. We got a tour of the rooms, and they were equally gorgeous with amazing views of the sea, but I’d highly recommend this one we stayed in.
Posing in this gorgeous Ann Taylor dress + shoes before dinner at our pool villa.
Room service! We constantly ordered the shrimp tacos (they were so yummy). I also loved this chia-lime-water concoction (it was really refreshing and detoxifying).
A little box with treats, a bottle opener, hat etc. (in case you forget anything) — love this kind of hospitality, especially when it is presented in such a pretty way.
Room service at our pool villa – a full Mexican fiesta! Still dreaming of that Pico de Gallo…
I am a magazine junkie so naturally I loved that all over the resort there were plenty of copies of Architectural Digest (MX), Glamour Mexico, Vogue Mexico, GQ (for Neal) – it made for great pool days.
My sunscreen of choice! I shared more of my honeymoon beauty tips here if you’re interested in reading.
Loved this Topshop coverup!
The gorgeous library, with endless white pillows…
Yummy paletas (traditional Mexican treat: homemade, real fruit popsicles)
Breakfast with a view…
We did a couple’s massage at Encanto’s spa and the views from the top were just incredible (almost as great as our massage). They brought us out some green juice and fresh iced water with lemon on the side while we enjoyed the jacuzzi after our treatment at sunset, which was just a dream!
I actually worked out on our honeymoon! Shocking, because I’m terrible at doing it when I’m back at home, but the gym was just too amazing. It had the most spectacular views, and being in a bikini everyday definitely inspired me to get moving on that elliptical haha!
Fresh green juices in the morning were my favourite…
Get closer hubby! Loved the mimosa bar on wheels.
Our favourite staff: Enrique (the manager: he was so sweet and accommodating), Candido (“like candy” as he liked to say, the sweetest man, he made us the best drinks at the bar!), Rodolfo (he greeted us when we got there first and gave us a tour of the whole property, gave us reccs, available to help at anytime etc.) & Carlos (sweetheart waiter). Everyone was so kind to us, which made our experience that much better!
Overlooking Acapulco Bay at the highest point of Brisas Marqués…
My love planned a romantic dinner for two on the roof top at sunset. It was such a sweet gesture, and I love how everyone at the hotel helped make it special. The staff were so cute! It really meant a lot to us.
Morning lattes…
Mexican style eggs, refried beans, tortilla – YES! Another one of our faves.
Relaxing, tranquil views, architecture and vibes…
Beet juice (my hubby’s fave for break)
Endless views of blue…
If you’re looking for a romantic getaway, I would definitely recommend Encanto. July isn’t high season at all in Mexico (it was extremely hot), but for a spring getaway, it would be just perfect! The hotel was about 20 minutes from the airport, which was nice to not have to do anymore travel after the plane ride from Toronto to Mexico. Let me know if you have any questions about the hotel or our stay in the comments below, happy to help. Marriage is such a blessing, and truly the best part about this season has just been getting even closer to Neal. Always remember to make your marriage more beautiful than your wedding/honeymoon, because that is priceless. XOXO

Great post!

Hey girl! We are looking at booking this for a couples getaway for the end of November. Can you speak to the food/drink prices? We are looking at this vs. all inclusive prices. Thanks!!
