One of the things I get asked about the most is my business — how I started, how I grew, how I stay motivated etc. I love this quote by Anna Wintour that goes a little something like this, “…you just need to have a love for what you’re doing. It’s not about thinking that it’s the cool thing; it’s about really believing in it.” When I first started blogging and my stationery shop, I really just loved creating and that’s what I go back to whenever I feel like I need to get re-inspired. I think about why I started and the answer is, I really just loved it. I work from home and for myself, so I have to motivate myself everyday to do what I do (most days it is easy because I love it, but like any job you have your moments). Whenever I need to get my creative juices flowing, it’s best for me to step away from the computer and go for a walk. My everyday walks just bring me so much clarity in what I do. I recently pinned this quote by Banksy and there is so much truth in it: “If you get tired learn to rest, not to quit.†I love getting a latte or iced tea at a local coffee shop, bringing my day planner and notebooks and just letting ideas flow. I find the change of scenery just really helps when I can sometimes feel all cooped up at home, and when I feel relaxed, my creativity flows more freely. Never doubt a walk outside, a cheesy Pinterest quote or a new place to sit and think — it can bring breakthroughs…

For casual runs like such, I love being comfortable in easy denim (I love these from Express) that I paired with sneakers. I take style cues from other #girlbosses, like Karlie Kloss, who always does effortless cool in such a chic way. A t-shirt and jeans does not have to be boring, even if it is dressing down! See my hubby’s Express look here for some inspiration for your boyfriend/husband too! XO
Thank You to Express for partnering on this post.Â

I didn’t know you had a stationery shop! That’s cool 🙂 Yes, being in love with what you’re doing in your career is super important I find. Especially in entrepreneurship or in the longevity of any job. But yes, we do have our moments. You can’t have 100% of the energy all the time.
Simple and chic, awesome look. I truly believe that doing what you love and putting in the work is a recipe for success. Great post, Stephanie!
