This weekend I got treated to a little hair pampering session over at Hair On The Avenue. I’ve been going to this salon in Toronto for the past three years and have always left with a huge smile on my face, whippin’ my hair back & forth like a Pantene commercial (no lie)! Since summer is just around the corner I wanted my hair to appear a little more sunkissed. I’ve been a huge fan of ombre as most of you have seen me with for a couple years now, and then the salon recently introduced me to balayage – “the cousin of ombre.” It has a similar effect, only that it uses a “hair painting” technique, applying colour to where the sun would naturally lighten your hair. I had never dyed my hair until 2011 (yes, I managed to stay strong through my teen years, thank goodness!). A couple years ago when I first landed at HOTA I wanted to add some dimension and switch up my look — balayage/ombre is perfect for this! There is very little maintenance required as well, which is always a plus in my books. However, I believe in investing in good shampoo & conditioner for up keep – Kerastase is my fave for this. I love that HOTA listens to their clients when it comes to hair, I always leave with exactly what I had in mind when I initially walk through the doors. Here’s how it all came together…
Dynamic Duo Sisters: Jazmin (colour) + Tara (cut/style) – LOVE them!
Huge thanks to Hair On The Avenue founder, Luis Pacheco for having me!

Beautiful as always. I am going for something a little different for summer as well.. we shall see how it turns out tonight.
Love your sunglasses in the first picture! Where is it from? Love the hair too!
Your hair looks great Stephanie! I love the ombre and how you incorporated your instagram snap in this post. Lovely!

Your hair is absolutely perfect, Steph! I used to do balayages when I lived in Paris, but not anymore, since no one seems to know the technique around here. Such a shame. Would love to rock such beautiful sun-kissed hair as you!

Your hair looks amazing! Beautiful as always!!
Oh it came out so fabulous! You pull it off perfectly!
Your color looks great! I'm curious what the difference is between the two techniques, because my stylist always hand paints on my highlights for my ombre.
This is my new hair inspiration!

Steph you have the most gorgeous hair! I keep thinking of going back blonde but I don't think I dare do it, this would be a good compromise! You need to do a post of how you curl your hair!
