Recently I began a bible study called The Armour of God by Priscilla Shirer. I had actually discovered it through one lovely follower of mine on Instagram who had experienced pregnancy loss, after sharing a quote by Priscilla in a caption of mine. This was the quote in case you’re curious: “Some pain is designed to reveal the start of something new; something that God is going to birth through you — new ministry, a new calling, a new endeavour, a new relationship with Him. The pain is what causes you to look into the eyes of God and hear Him whisper: “It’s time. Push.” So push…and keep pushing until you are holding all that God has for you in your hands.”

I immediately added the bible study to my cart and as I’ve been diving into the word and her guide, I have been encouraged and reminded that there is so much hope and power we possess when we believe in Christ, more than we even realize. It’s ours and yet, I can let myself feel so defeated lately (because of the lies the enemy sneakily plants disguised as our own thoughts). Sometimes, we forget and need our eyes opened or a reminder. Life gets difficult, and we start living by our feelings and circumstances. They are all valid, it’s part of our human experience here on earth, but they don’t have the final say in heavenly realms. There is a spiritual war always at play and I have to work hard to not let it rob my peace. The Lord is my strength and shield, and in reminding myself, I am comforted by how much hope we can really have, even when life, the world and circumstances look really bleak. Fighting back with gratitude, praise and worship — even when I don’t feel like it…that is my armour. God is working and we need to keep pushing forward.

Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. Romans 8:37

Sometimes we don’t even realize God’s gifts of hope, peace, grace and power until we are aware or reminded of it. We get so distracted. I know I just needed some reminding and just a simple thing like connecting with one of you, God used that platform, that one share for someone to bring this bible study into my life and it’s already had such an impact on my spirit and attitude. He can use all things, all people and all circumstances to bring you closer to Him when He knows you need it the most. It isn’t just one thing or one bible study that changes that, it’s constantly staying open to Him using people, platforms, experiences and teachers to sharpen us and grow us over the years, the hard seasons and the sweet ones. I’m grateful for that. I feel like He is preparing me for what He has prepared for me and some pain is involved in that so we can keep our eyes on Him. Don’t let it discourage you, get excited, have hope! This is my encouragement to you today…xo
