Well, if you’ve been following my blog since 2012, then you probably know I like to change up my hair (A LOT). I get bored quickly, and just love playing with my look. When I was around 3 years old, I woke up in the middle of the night, snuck into my parent’s bathroom, took a pair of scissors and pulled a Britney (chopping all of my hair off). YUP. Then I walked over to my mom’s side of the bed, tapped on her to wake up and asked if she loved my new hair (LOL). She was horrified and checked to make sure I didn’t cut myself, and then ran to the bathroom trying to find what mess I left behind. I was a step ahead of her – I already washed it all down the bathtub (cleaned up the evidence). I guess you could say, I have always been into having fun with my hair! I didn’t dye my hair until I turned 21, but ever since then, I’ve  had so many different hairstyles and shades. Let’s take a look back at the history of my hair though blogging (let me know in the comments below which was your fave!)…

When I first started blogging, I had my natural brunette hair colour. I feel like I look like a baby here! It is so funny to look back at my old blogposts and style! It would get a little lighter in the summer from the sun, but I started to crave a more permanent “balayage” so I eased myself in with a few highlights…

At this point, I had already been colouring my hair for two years, but always staying close to my natural hair colour to ease me in – I was always really nervous. This was when I did something more drastic (the most colour I had ever put in at that point) and added contrast to my hair with blonde ombre…

I got really comfortable with my ombre, so much so I wanted to make it more blonde (taking more risks and introducing purple shampoo in my life, lol) and so I took it up higher…

In 2015, I embarked on a major hair change — cutting it all off! I eased myself in with a long bob and then I got more and more brave, cutting it shorter and shorter. I loved it so much, and honestly I think about going back to this hairstyle all of the time. The only downside was I missed putting my hair up in a bun, and you have to style it every morning. With my long hair I can get away with throwing it up in a ponytail, or letting it air dry with some sea salt spray. I always go back and forth…

I wanted to give my hair a break from the blonde dye, so I was trying to let it grow out here and went back to my brunette roots…

We got engaged, and so I knew I wanted long hair again for all of the events leading up to our wedding, but there wasn’t enough time to grow it out! I turned to my favourite hair master, Manolo who is an extension expert in Toronto to give me long ombre locks again…

Long, ombre hair for my bridal brunch (you can see the full post here).

For our wedding day, I really wanted to look like myself. I desired a classic look (dress, hair and makeup), so we dyed my hair back to my natural brunette but kept it nice and long. It was such a hot summer day that I so wished I had an up-do, but when I look back now at photos I love that it was down!

After the wedding, I wanted to let my hair breathe from the extensions but I still felt like I wanted a different look, so I got bangs! I have a love/hate relationship with bangs. They always seem like a good idea, I’ll see a cute girl or photo and think, YES! Then I get them and instantly regret it because the reality is I am way too lazy to manage them (styling, trimming consistently etc.) and so I think I’m done with them for good. I would get bangs on and off during high school, and gave them one more try. They were cute, but I just can’t be bothered!

Trip to Mexico (resort was Finest Playa Mujeres by Excellence Group)

Last summer, I wanted to see if life was more fun as a blonde (lol). I have a major girl crush on Jennifer Aniston (love her hair and style) and so I said, “YOLO, let’s do this!” Actually I never say YOLO, but you know what I’m getting at here! I loved it, but it was really high maintenance constantly staying on top of the roots growing out. It was fun while it lasted, but who knows, the blonde might come back…

I did a complete switch when I went back to my dark hair for the fall/winter…

I have learned I can’t stick to one whole head of colour, I always have to have a little bit of dimension! I love the way it looks styled, or up in a messy bun. This is definitely the most suitable for me (well for now at least, lol).  I’m sure i’ll change it up again sometime this year, let’s see what I come up with next! *wink*

Let me know what your favourite look on me was down below in the comments & if y’all change up your hair (like your underwear) like I do, haha…Happy Weekend! xoxo
