I’m a notorious homebody (I’ve worked from home for years) and since we’re all staying in a lot more now (I hope you are!) – I thought I’d share what I have and use to bring as much cozy, comfort and relaxation as possible! I’ll explain more below…
I am big in to essential oils (I love Saje Wellness, Young Living and others) and all of the health benefits they can provide for you physically and emotionally. Putting on my oil diffuser during the day or at night instantly puts me in a more relaxed mood and it can also help with aromatherapy, decongesting and purifying the air (among many other benefits). If you don’t have one, now is a great time to get into it!
Barefoot Dreams Blanket
This blanket is definitely a splurge but it’s my comfort blanket. It’s so, so soft, thick and cozy. Throwing it over me first thing in the morning is like a big, warm hug and I can’t explain it other than it makes me feel cozy inside. Almost like when you were little and carried your favourite stuffed toy around – this is the adult equivalent for me!
If you have a tub, I highly encourage you to get in and soak your bones! Use epsom salts, DIY something from your kitchen or use these Ouai Chill Pill bath bombs. I’m a huge fan of bubble baths and love reading books in there or listening to soft music while closing my eyes (but don’t fall asleep in there, haha). It also has great detoxifying benefits!
I found these cute fuzzy slippers on Amazon and they just add another level of comfort for having around the home right now! It’s nice to slip on something cozy before you go down to make your breaky, no?
If you have anxiety or insomnia, you should try a weighted blanket to take naps with or sleep at night! There’s research that says it could lessen anxiety, improve your mood and promote better sleep as it applies gentle pressure over you. I really love them and they come in cute colours, fabrics and prints now from Target to Amazon carrying them at great prices!
Yeti Insulated Tumbler
I hope when you’re home you’re still remembering to hydrate well! It’s so important for your own health (which we really need to boost right now) and will help you feel better during the day (trust me). I aim to drink 3L a day and I keep my YETI refilled throughout the day. They come in so many cute colours as well.
Detox Face Mask
I’ve been doing so many masks lately! My absolute favourite one is this clean beauty must-have of mine from Tula that also exfoliates so it’s like a 2-in-1 treatment! I love applying it after I use this facial steamer and then wash it off in the shower. You can always use my code: STEPHJOLLY for 15% off their website (never expires). I love their skincare and I also started using their probiotic gummies (great for our gut health during this time too) and it has benefits for your skin, hair and nails.
These are the softest, comfiest pjs I own! I was gifted them and they’re the most precious things in my closet (no joke). I sleep SO well and I instantly just exhale the minute I put them on. We all need that comfort right now if I am being honest and I highly recommend investing in good pjs (it’s not something we typically think to do, but it makes a huge difference).
Rose Quartz Roller
I pop this rose quartz roller in the freezer and pull it out when I apply my face oils or have a headache (the cold stone massage relieves all the tension). I definitely love having this tool and use it everyday!
At-Home Facial Steamer
I love doing at-home “spa” treatments and having a facial steamer is not only great pre-exfoliating/face masks but it also helps keep my sinuses open and clear. I found this one for under $40 on Amazon too!
Sleep Inner Beauty Powder
Our sleep patterns have probably been quite off with the added stress, less physical movement out and about and less sunshine (vitamin D) during the day makes it harder for melatonin to rise in the evening that promotes good sleep. This herbal blend is supposed to reduce sleeplessness and mild anxiety and it also has turmeric in it that’s an amazing anti-inflammatory which is so good for our health! Good sleep really makes a difference for our immune systems, so I highly encourage you to do all that you can to ensure you get the best sleep possible: use less screens before bedtime and don’t snack too late (it’s harder to digest and your body can’t fall asleep easily) and take supplements to assist. Mix this with your favourite milk warmed up (so good in oat milk) and add some manuka honey for extra antibacterial benefits that will support your immune system. It’s such a nice comfort drink at night!
Silk Pillow Case
Silk pillow cases are much better for your skin and hair to sleep on at night, but they also just feel amazing! The SLIP ones are my fave but if you’re looking for a more affordable option they also have them on Amazon here!
There’s nothing more relaxing than candlelight glow, during the day or in the evening! If you have a comforting scent over the years light it while you do some yoga, reading, have your morning cup of coffee or tea to soothe your environment. It definitely adds a nice touch, glow and scent to your home right now!
