Having coloured hair comes with maintenance (especially when you go as light as I did this season). Something I get asked a lot about is how I keep my colour so blonde during the summer without it turning into that “brass” shade. With the sun (UV rays) and beach (salt water is very drying) — the summer can really take a toll on your hair, especially when you have blonde like me. We recently visited Croatia and I packed Moroccanoil Protect & Prevent Spray, which saved my hair! I’m so glad I brought it along with me and have been using it all summer as a shield to protect my colour from fading and pollution. It’s a leave-in conditioner, which is great because the sun and salt water can be so drying, and this helps to keep it soft as well.
Here’s how I use it:
- Apply it on wet hair (I prefer semi-wet hair) and mist it evenly throughout the mid-length to the ends of my hair
- Comb it out with a brush or your fingers (I like to work the product in with my hands)
- To style: I scrunch and let it air dry for that “beachy texture”
My hair colour didn’t fade or turn a different colour and I’ve spent a lot of time out in the sun this summer (especially on this trip), so it is tried, tested and true! It’s my secret little weapon (well not so secret anymore) for keeping my colour, while I’m out enjoying what I love about this beautiful season. Just as you need to protect your skin out in the heat, it’s so important to take care of your hair (especially when it is colour treated) to make it last longer in between salon treatments.
Thank you to Moroccanoil for partnering on this post. All opinions are my own.

Nice post dear! 🙂
